1Mʿdkrb Yʿfr, king of Sabaʾ, ḏu-Raydān, Ḥaḍ- 2ramawt, Yamanat, and their arabs of Ṭwdm and of Thmt 3announced and recorded this inscription in Mʾs¹lm Gmḥn, 4during an expedition in the plain of Ktʾ, in order that 5he submitted the rebellious Arabs to him, when Mḏrm made war with him. 6He undertook this expedition with his tribes Sabaʾ, Ḥimyar, Rḥb- 7tn, Ḥaḍramawt and Yḥn, with their Arabs of Kinda and Mḏ- 8ḥgm and with the banū Ṯʿlbt, Mḍr et S¹bʿ. 9in the month of Qyẓn, six hundred thirty-one.
Translation Notes:
3"a fait détailler et a affecté" (G. Ryckmans, reading: hwrw); "a établi et a publié" (Robin, reading: ḥwrw);
4-5"an expedition ... on account of the business of the declaration to him, by the Arabs, of a rebellion" (Beeston 1982 b. But in Beeston et al. 1982 the clause is analysed differently: ḏ-ndyn-hmw, ndy: "proclaim"); "parce qu'il a soumis les Arabes en révolte alors que Mḏrm lui faisait la guerre" (Robin).
