1Whoever sells 
2wholesale the merchandise with which 
3he does trade in S²mr must 
4sell it 
5inside Qatabān directly from one 
6to the other and whoever finishes 
7the sale of all the 
8merchandise in S²mr 
9during the nights, he must 
10pay a tax. 
11And the king of Qatabān in person 
12has authority over all 
13transactions and goods 
14that pass over his territory. 
15And no king
16will take away
17this decree.

1[ix] ... If anyone
2deals wholesale with merchandise with
3which he trades in Tmnʿ,
4he must be retailed in
5Qataban
6through middlemen. [x] If any
7person attempts to sell any
8merchandise in S²mr
9at night, let people hold aloof
10until day dawns.
11[xi] The king has supervisory
12in respect of every
13transaction and every commodity
14which passes in his territory.
15[xii] Let every
16king give support
17to this decree.
