1Ḥllm, son of Dhyt, Hbs²- 2nyn confessed and did penance 3to his Lord ḏ-S¹mwy Master of 4Ġrw, because he entered 5the temple and on his reins (he wore) 6a belt which was not clean, 7and because he entered the temple 8and he touched a lustful (?) woman.
Translation Notes:
8The root WDQ means "to ruin, to fall down". However, the editors propose to translate the word mhwdq as "ġalimat" ("lustful") referred to the woman, on the basis of a comparison found in the Lisān al-ʿArab, where the word refers to female animals desirous to couple.
